Esquire Farr always includes his name in his photo posts, so I figured it was worth a shot ;)

I owe a HUGE THANKS to Jim (coop747) for very graciously cutting these down and working on the resolution. THANK YOU!!!

The top knife belongs to Danbo. 10" of 1084 with 416ss fittings and stabilized Ziricote handle.

The bottom knife belongs to Wulf, 8" blade of 320 layer loose ladder pattern with blued O1 fittings and desert ironwood burl handle.

Thanks for looking! :)

Nick

Mine looks kinda small next to Danbo's

uh... that didn't sound right :(

Wulf,
If I had known ... neither you or Dan woulda even seen those puppies :D.

Now how in the heck did we miss each other at Blade?

gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LIKE EM! Would like 10 please. Over time anyway.

Wulf, if you feel inadequate with yours, I would gladly trade you.

I love those fighter style blades, very sleek and quick looking. The dog-leg crook in the handle on Wulf's looks great, but I prefer the size of Danbo's.

I can see why these didn't last long...! Stunning work on BOTH.

'Esquire Farr'....? What frog kissed him??? :D :p Sheesh.... ;)

Yep, heard that before too. :o

Gus - not sure how we missed each other, but I won't let that happen next year.

By the way, I should comment on how light and quick that damascus fighter is. You really need to hold it in your hand to fully appreciate it. It's about so much more than just looks!

Wow... Stunning. Are those commissions, or were they for sale anywhere?

JD

Nick had both of these knives available for sale at the Blade show. In fact, they remained unsold for several whole minutes after the doors opened. :)

Oh, those.... Yeah, they're amazing. I actually got to see them "live"!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! :)

On the size issue...I think this picture is a little deceiving (even though the picture quality is amazing). The damascus knife is NOT small at all. It has an 8" X 1.25" blade and the handle is close to 5" long. Danbo's knife is just HUGE! :)

Thanks again,
NIck

Stunning work as always Nick. I'll bet you sell out in the first hour at Blade every year from now on :D

Roger

Terrific knives as usual Nick - I like 'em both an awful lot. Danbo and Wulf must be grinning from ear to ear.

Cheers,

Roger

I really admire Nick's abilities. He comes up with just the right designs. He has the ability to see detail and know what he wants his knives to be. (perfect) I think those knives ae just what knives should be. Balenced design, no extra bulk, and CLEAN. I know the level of testing and quality control he demands of himself.

Next question... Does anyone else notice what I call the Pacific Northwest style of bowie? I see it in Tom Ferry's knives, Ed Caffrey's, and Nicks. I think it is a very attractive look.

Dan Farr
PS Nick, we are around friends, you can call me Mr. Farr

You mean, THIS Nick Wheeler? Check out that smiling mug! He had good reason to be smiling from ear to ear. Every knife on his table was sold at that point, except the dagger(which wasn't quite finished).

Nick,

Awesome knives my friend! While I really like the big knife that Danbo stole (yes, stole ;) ), the damascus fighter was one of my favorite knives in Atlanta. That says quite a bit right there. I got lucky and managed to get a couple of superb makers to accept an order for a knife from me while I was at Blade, a bowie from Roger Massey and a fighter from you similar to Wulf's. To say I am tickled is an understatement.

Still have to get around to finding a pic of my awesome little tac/utility. Just simply one of the coolest knives ever IMO.
