Late last year, I posted Russ Andrews' first integral dagger with 1095 layered between 3 104-layer pieces, forming a unique ladder patterned look. Handled in ivory, it was the first part of our project.

The weekend before the Blade Show, Russ delivered the rest of the package. W2 matching integral dagger with stag handle. Russ surprised me with the 1095 layered damascus, and included a nice subtle hamon in the carbon steel version, much to my surprise.

Coop shot them together in Atlanta and includes them in his Blade 2011 thread. I wanted to pull them out and thank Russ for a fun, rewarding project.

Thanks for looking.

I saved this image immediately when I saw it. I love them both and they look great together.

Just a fantastic set Joe - I count myself fortunate to have seen them at the show - thanks for that and big congrats! Considering that they were not made at the same time, Russ did a great job of matching the lines and dimensions. Each piece i sbeautiful in its own right, and they sure look extra nice together.

Beautiful, sorry that I missed these at BLADE Show.
Maker/collector projects such as this really reflect an important and beneficial aspect of custom knives.

Awesomeness incarnate! Russ, ya knocked another one out of the ballpark here. :)

Joe, you suck! ;) :D :)

Joe,

Congratulations on a pair of great daggers.

Russ has really been making some nice knives.

"a pair of Russ Andrews" !!! talk about an attention getter !!!
I immediately grabbed a cup of coffee and parked myself in front of the screen.

I remain awestruck. Congratulations and thank you for sharing.

I was fortunate enough to handle these two beauties at Blade. Russ really knows his craft. Congratulations for having this fine pair.

Rob, so many knives, so little time. These were with Coop for awhile, but I should have thought to share them with you. Really enjoyed our visits.

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone. Russ was great to work with.

Peter, the next one may be somewhat longer in length and more difficult to hide. ;)
