Hi everyone!

Here are two knives I just sold at the Branson Knife Show put on by Gary Mulkey. I would like to thank Gary Mulkey for the great show and a really good time. I would also like to thank my brother Caleb for the GREAT pictures. He keeps getting better and better with each one.

The first one is a Slip-Joint Folder forged from 1080 and 15N20 in Ladder Pattern Damascus. The bolsters and back-bar are also of Ladder Pattern Damascus. The handle is of Black-Lip Pearl. The liners are of Coined Titanium that is anodized to a golden/bronze color. This is the third Slip-Joint Folder I have made. This knife is the first one I have made with Black-Lip Pearl and the first one that I have put Rear Bolsters on. The screws are heat colored to match the liners. It won the Best Folder Award at the 2010 Branson Knife Show.

The second knife is forged from two inch W-2 round bar and features a Hamon in the blade. The handle is of Sambar Stag. The “W” Twist Pattern Damascus fittings are forged from 1080 and 15N20. The guard has a groove going around it with some coining on the edges. The spacer has a groove to match the guard. The edge of the pommel is made to go with the texture of the stag and is the first time I’ve done this process. I also made a custom sheath with Diamondback Rattlesnake Skin inlay to accompany this knife. This knife is built in a “Take Down” style, so the knife can be taken apart for future maintenance. It won the Best Of Show award at the 2010 Branson knife show.

I also won the Best Damascus Award and the Cutting Competition.

Wow, those are both just soooo nice. The sheath could not be more perfectly matched to the bowie.

Congrats on that armful of awards - very impressive.

Way to go, Kyle. Those are some nice ones. Sounds like you made a sweep in Branson!

Caleb's doing very well, also.

John

Kyle you really can do it all from slip joint to classic Gauche the slip joint is lovely

The Bowie might be my favorite from you yet.

Great shaped blade and terriffic stag

Congratulations on the awards Kyle! Those knives are BOTH exceptional. I'd would be happy to own either of them.

You keep getting better with every knife too:D

Do you mind if I ask what steel you used in the blade that won the Cutting Competition ?

Very well done Kyle.
Those awards are piling up.

I also agree regarding Caleb's photos getting better and better.

Very nice, and congratulations on your awards. Love the blade on that folder.

How about a pic of the knife you used to win the cutting competition? No need to clean it up or anything. :D

Kyle, they are both works of art, but for me the Bowie and sheath are just AWESOME!!!

congrats on the awards Kyle. Another couple of very nice knives. The folder is very nice. Unfortunately, we all are not able to actually handle the knives. While watching TV tonight I spent the evening handling the two of yours I do have and it is always a pleasure.

Kyle I am just loving everything you are doing these days. That bowie is just great, super hamon and sheath. Caleb's photography is really top notch.

Congratulations on the awards too, Jon

VERY nice Kyle, congrats on the awards! Both knives are beautiful, and deserving of awards. Thank for giving us a peek.

Superb work, Kyle. Very nice slipjoint, and I really like your stag bowie! Guard, spacer, pommel all tastefully done.

Wish I had made it over for the festivities. Congratulations on the awards and cutting competition. Sounds like you have that cutter fine-tuned to mean business.

These were even nicer first hand. Your work, Kyle, is truly inspiring.

If everyone agrees that it's OK for the promoter to enter, I may get in the fun of the cutting competition next year so keep up the good work as you may have even more competition next year ( :) even if it is from an old man) . I've got a blade & handle design in mind that should be a contender. :)Now I just have to turn some of Don's W2 into something that will give me a chance against you young bucks.

Again, congrats on some beautiful work.

Gary
