We just had a guy come into our shop trying to figure out what his old Buck Knives were worth. Luckily the owner here knew all about them and gave me a quick lesson too. The gentleman said he bought them in the early 90s when he was in the service from a store that was going out of business. He had about $80 into the pair.

That 184 is awesome I've listed after that model for years! I wish I would have bought one way back when!

I carried a Buck M9 in the Army. It's not the best knife out there by any stretch, but there's just something about it that keeps calling to me... One day I'll get my hands on one again.

I'm not arguing whether or not it's a beast, it is. But it serves little purpose unless I'm a biker...:)

I think it would serve little purpose for a biker as well. I thought the biker's knife of choice was the 110.

It's a bayonet, I think it's best served on the end of a rifle or next to a rifle. Cool item none the less.

Buck's M9 bayonet came out as a new offering in their 1987 catalog. Then the look a like Phobus came shortly after. The date stamp on this one pictured looks to be 90. Which would make it 425M steel. DM
