I started shopping some of the Case peanuts because I thought I didn't own one in that pattern. But in looking through some of my slipjoints, I actually found a couple.

One is my first knife, a little Boker that I carried for years. It never registered as a peanut because... well... I never knew it as a peanut. It was just "my knife." It was well used for years and has some nice patina on it.

The other is a knife I bought off someone on Jeff Randall's Adventure and Training forum, or as I used to call it, the "jungle forum." Anyway, I paid $10 for this little one-blade Old Timer peanut, put it away, and forgot about it. I've since returned it to pocket carry in a leather slip I got from Ron Ryder. Nice little knife with good snap.

nice set of 'nuts there...

The Boker is really nice but was the tip broke off at some point? It looks as if part of the swedging was lost somehow.

It does appear a tiny portion of the tip has been lost, but I don't recall how. I think the blade shape is pretty much like it's always been, other than the now blunted tip. I thought about sharpening it to a point, but I'll just lose more of the blade that way.

It has nice half stops on both blades, but the main blade doesn't snug closed quite as smartly as it once did. Sometimes it bounces up just a tad if you let it snap closed.

Peanuts are my current favorite. I only have two, one was my Father's Case from the 60s the other is a newer Case. Perfect pocket companion.

Both of those are very nice. Some classics to say the least. Good to see you using and appreciating them.

I got two peanuts and I thought they where to small for my taste. I prefered larger knives. But my taste have been slowly changing. I am liking the smaller knives more and more. I got a large stockman that I thought I would love. But my thought was, it is to big. I have been carrying my 3 3/8" and 3 5/8" Stockmans and liking them more and more. I definately see more peanuts in my future.

Not to hy-jack the thread but..

Stockman242, Love the clipper. Everyone should carry one, always. It's probably the best $1 you can spend. I keep one in the car, fishing vest, every drawer in the house, office desk...you get the picture. I've saved a few knife blades because I had a small nail clipper close by. Good call.

Nice nuts there! I am realy liking that spear main blade on the boker... always thought the clip was great in them, but a spearpoint would be nice.
