When was the 121 last offered?

When was the old flap-over sheath last offered?

Thanks for your feedback!

I've learned never to say "LAST". The most "RECENT" appearance in the catalog was in 2013 with a Boone & Crockett logo. It's the lower knife in the picture shown with a 118. Generally, I think the flap sheaths started giving way to the Snoopy type in the early-mid 70's. I expect they were available as a replacement sheath for quite awhile a s old inventory sold out. Flap sheaths also occasionally appeared as special issues with certain knives thru the 80's. Hopefully someone else will chime in on the sheath question.

Yes, the 121 was offered relatively recent. That date sounds right. Though it is now has a different shape. I can pin the sheaths changing to 1979 and 1980. By 1981 the 'snoopy' style is established. Just my observations. I own a model 120 bought in 1980 from Gander Mt. with the flap over sheath and a model 119 (bought the same year) with the snoopy sheath. DM

Good info on the sheaths-just what I was looking for; thank you! I knew about the special edition knife. I would like to know when they dropped the regular run of 121s.

Realize when us collectors (Roger, et al) try to define parameters on design changes and pen it to certain years. Allow us some fluctuation. As a certain change may be seen one year (perhaps looked at as an anomaly) and then becomes more 'commonly seen' another. We try. Your welcome. DM
