Two Questions On Used CRKs....(and one on new knives)

I have some questions on CRKs:

1) I have registered via email my two knives that I bought new and got acknowledgements from CRK on both. Does this do me any good? i.e is it necessary? (It's still nice to get the email from them, especially on my first CRK.)

2) I registered a used knife I bought through the BF Knife Exchange and did not get a response from CRK - Is this because it is used, or did I just fall through the cracks?

3) Totally separate question: how does Edge Pro sharpening affect the CRK Warranty and the value of the knife??

Thanks!

I think the warranty is only valid for the original buyer, so that probably explains the lack of response on the used knife purchase. However, CRK stands behind their products and takes care of their customers. (Providing you don't abuse your knives)
As for the second question, how you sharpen it won't have an impact on the warranty as long as you don't damage the knife as a result. EG: use a belt sander and fry the heat treat or something similar
With that being said, you won't be able to get as much for it after you have used and sharpened it, just as with any other knife. Don't worry though, they hold their values well even used. Just use it and enjoy it!

I've owned over 20 CRK's and have never registered any of them. They never ask if your knife is registered when you send in for spa treatments and sharpening. The knives don't have serial numbers to verify if they are the knives that have been registered so I don't know how they would register the indivdual knife. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I responded to your email request brother.

Thanks guys for the responses. That's what I figured but thought I would see what others have experienced.
