I saw this Wayne Goddard spydie in black handle in the local shop, and it was down from $115CDN to $80CDN. I know you guys would probably frown at that price but I'd have to pay various other fees if I get it from the states.
Now the thing is, that particular one has the blade play sideways, and it seems the pivot is like some kind of rivet and not adjustable easily. Would it be worth it to get it and then get spyderco to fix it up?
Second question is, anyone know a good Canadian site that sells a variety of knives in competitive prices?

Hi...

Hmm,,

doesn't sound to good (blade play)
price doesn't sound bad though....

Any spydie under 1C in Canada is a fairly good deal....

Tell them you want another one....

Maybe its reduced because of the blade play....

as far as other delaers are concerned..
Drop me a note,, I'll fix you up..

Eric.....

Well I don't see the wayne goddard under spydie's site.... and I know the shop quite well, and they only seriously slash the price when either the knife is discontinued or the knife has slight defect. I wouldn't think they'd sell a knife that has a defect such as bladeplay.
I know they have some others in different shops, so I can always get one from there if they're on sale too.

Check out www.knifezone.ca They have decent prices(I think), and good selection. Great customer service. You can also e-mail them about other knives not on the site, chances are they can get it.

Honestly, you'll pay less ordering from the discount online places in the US, even with customs charges. Canadian retailers just can't compete or won't compete on price OR stock, so I don't patronize them anymore.

Spyderco blade play can be fixed by gently tapping that rivet with a hammer. I tightened up my native very nicely using this method.

Reasonable prices, great stock and staff.

Cutting Edge carries most of the spyderco brand, including rare and discontinued ones. The prices are pretty close to the US prices(ie a 204 is $68).

The closest one to you is in Calgary, but email them at swords.ca@shaw.ca for items. The site is under construction and the spydie section wasn't up a few days ago.

Try www.lebaron.ca. Knifezone prices seem high to me.

I have the Goddard folder in micarta. Great knife.
A price of $115CDN for the FRN version seems like around list price to me.
