Can people give their views on the best way to clean grooved Ram's Horn scales or jigged bone  What sort of polishes to get a good shine please?

Secondly, how can I find out on-line about boot knife sheathes? The Bark River I have is wonderful but I hate this kydex or whatever tactical sheath:barf:

If you just need to clean the Ram's horn / jigged bone try an oil soap like Murphy, or one made to condition old wood. A tooth brush and soft cloth shod due the trick. Then a bit of Past wax and buffing with a soft cloth should put things in good shape.
If this is a piece of raw Ram's horn it needs to be scraped and sanded then polished with a compound.
Had an old jigged bone handle knife of my Grandfathers that the handle was just dingy, I used jewelers rogue and a soft cloth to restore the piece. I'd stay away from a buffing wheel on a restore project, rogue is still an abrasive. and will remove to much material fast.

Ron Ryder of Cutters and Collectors made me a boot sheath for my 5 inch texas toothpick and it is perfect. Give Ron a try and I'm sure you will like it.
