Two Questions.....

Hey guys, got two questions for y'all:

First question is about the forum knife. I have been absent here for a little while, so hopefully this hasn't been answered already. I am looking forward to getting my forum knife, but I was thinking about it, and I'm not sure that such a nice blade is something that I really wanna use. On the other hand, I really have a desire to get in the woods with it. :D So my question is this: will we be able to purchase more than one? I personally would like to get my hands on two of them with my RAT Pack # on it. Just wondering.....

Second question is in regards to the Izula. I love mine, and love the sheath...... but it doesn't really work well for my job. Was wondering if anyone out there has gotten an aftermarket sheath that they really liked. I've seen the regular Kydex ones, and they're nice. But I was hoping there might be someone out there with a different style that really worked well for them. Any suggestions (and links) are welcome.

Thanks in advance guys! :D

I don't see why we can't make 2 knives for everyone that desires 2. Wouldn't want to do more than that though.

Dylside was making some nice aftermarket Izula sheaths at one time. You might check with him.

there are many sheath makers ... if you had a design in mind you can email many of them and see if you can have your idea built ... i have had good luck with this in past... you gotta wait for it and its a little spendy .. .but if thats what you need go for it.... if you could explain your purpose and style of carry more clearly im sure some people could help figure it out.... heres a carry system i got with a recent purchase .... custom built for some one else but i was really impressed with it.

You snagged a nice combo there from Snakedoc, that River-8 sheath is sweet!! Once I save up some dough I am going to try and score one for myself.

its a very nice set up.... but frankly if you wanna carry a knife... there are sheath makers out there willing to make it . if you have the time and money ... i have several on order from various makers....

I also just got my hands on the rc5 kydex and i have to say to the RC crew big +1 you guys nailed the carry for me rides great now... the other sheath was comfy but a bit big ... fit get on my pack but this ones quick and easy ... im going to wander around a little while this week end with it see how much i like it... man the RC5 is a beast for 5 inch blade...

So either you contact a sheathmaker or you give it a try yourself.

go on the maker's forums and check out all the amazing leatherworkers out there, Wookee makes a nice aftermarket kydex sheath too that's a tad less bulky.

Thanks to all who replied, I got some people to contact. I found one that I really liked in the maker's forum, and hopefully will be getting one sent my way early next week.

For those who have used Kydex, how difficult is it? I don't have the best of luck with making things from scratch sometimes, but I'd like to give it a shot. Any pointers?

@ Tony: I already posted that I'd be in for one, I'll go edit my post now. I didn't wanna clutter up that thread until I knew for sure that it was cool to ask for more than one. Thanks!
