... I took the oath of a Police Officer with the Greenville (SC) Police Department. I have seen a lot change during that time, and I have changed too. Single when I started, now have a wonderful wife with whom I plan to celebrate 24 years of marriage in November, and together, we brought into this world 2 terrific boys, who have grown in there own ways into fine young men.

I am certain that God's will brought me to where I am now. And, despite all the highs and lows I have experienced in this time, I can't imagine doing anything else.

I am now eligible to retire, but did I mention that I have 2 sons? So, 5-8 more years from now I might be financially eligible to take advantage of my retirement eligibility. The last 25 went by quick, hope 8 more will to.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks for that. I appreciate your public service, and your commitment to the Lord and to your family. Good stuff, which we sorely need these days.

BTW, I made many visits to Greenville (a 7 hour drive) when I was pursuing Mrs. Powernoodle while she attended Furman. That was 20+ years ago. We too have 2 male progeny.

Congrats Mark.
Since we are sharing. Here is a "small world" story.

Folks I have a second uncle in Mark's jurisdiction who was involved in an auto accident.

The guy is a retired executive from Ford (about 90 years old). Mark was on the scene of his accident. My uncle spoke highly of him.

Thanks for what you do Mark. My best to you and your family in everything you undertake.

Gus
