Hi folks I just finished these up, a friend of mine ordered a cleaver for his wife for christmas. The only billet I had big enough to do it was a can of pits and ends I welded up some time ago the powder i used was 4800kc there was enough for two cleavers and a shop rat. these are my first cleavers I'll let him pick I think its going to be hard what do you think, which one would your wife get?

Neat cleavers, Dave. The damascus turned out cool on both.

I like the wood handle.

(Where's the Rat?)

For the wife, I would take the wood handle. For me, probably the integral. Both are great.

Good stuff, Dave. Both turned out nice. I would go with the wood. Not sure I would trust my wife with the integral. :D

I was lucky enough to get to check these out in person and they are very impressive. The solid/integral handled one sits in the hand very nicely although a tad small for my hands would be perfect for the intended customer. The damascus looks amazing as well.

David, thanks for posting these up. My wife has been wanting me to build a cleaver for her every since I started. You have given me some ideas pal.

Thanks folks. John the shop rat is still just a bar but I can see it in there, Gooeytek the cutting edge is 5-1/2 x2-3/4 tall OAL is 9-3/4 both are about the same size and yes. Bruce I look forward to seeing what you come up with sounds like I am going to see you soon. Joe I did cut my hand playing with one I do not have your knife handle skills your videos should come with a warning kids do not try this at home. A holster might be a good idea

I think the straight damascus rules the day!!! I don't think you could go wrong with either though......well done!!
