Hi All
I recently purchased an old Buck knife (1961-1967) for $8.00 at a yard sale. The knife has two small 1/8" holes, one on each side of the end of the handle. Were the holes part of the manufacturing process at the time and do you think the holes will effect from the value - whatever that might be? I appreciate any information you're willing to share with a 'newbie.' Joe

That's what I thought at first but when I cleaned out the holes I saw that they didn't go all the way through the handle. But thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

I'll try to post a picture after I figure out how to get it from IMGUR to this site.

Looks like the pin that holds the end cap onto the handle.

Looks like the pommel pin corroded a bit on the ends.

Thanks all. My next question is about what year did Buck stop showing the pins? Will help me better date the knife.
