The first post talked about the Two Snakes.
This post is about the One Bite as promised. Cell phone pics here, so it is what it is quality wise.
Well, I put the Mojo to use within the first 30 minutes after it showed up. This Snakeskin Mojo is VERY fast and perfectly balanced. In fact, it is dangerously fast and sharp. Story follows....
I pulled a similar stunt to what Ankerson did two weeks ago with his NMFBM and now I guess 230grains and I were competing on the same day. I was out chopping weeds with the Mojo (without a tether cord on it, but wouldn't have helped) and while kneeling on my right knee it glanced off the ground slightly backward to land just below the knee on my left shin despite me pulling back on it to retard progress a little too slowly. It made a nice thud when it hit the bone and didn't hurt in the least.
My blue jeans didn't even slow it down at all and this is a non shaving used factory edge.
And for the sensitive among you, this may cause you to lose it. :barf:
It started bleeding right away. I am not a big fan of that cold trickling feeling.
The darn thing sure did go deep and I felt it when the air hit it.
So I superglued the outside just as a stop gap to proper treatment 45 minutes away. Worked pretty good but the doc wasn't too thrilled about removing the superglue before suturing. This pic is 20 minutes after the other two.
So now after a few hours at the VA hospital I now have 5 stitches holding a 2 1/2" long by 1/2" deep gash closed. No pics of that, but here's my humorous re-enactment of the dumb look on my face when I realized what I did. Also, it's a decent in hand shot of both snakes.
I love this Mojo though, especially since I have already bonded with it. In fact it is my first Busse to earn a pet name.... SnakeBite. This definitely gives a whole new meaning to the "INFI in" thing. My wonderful girlfriend suggests that in this kind of application, "INFI out" is highly recommended. I figured I had to post this story on the forums just for the entertainment/educational-how-not-to value as it is kinda silly in a stupid way and thankfully not a serious injury despite it's potential to be. It's my first knife injury in over 25 years of caution. Hopefully the next gap will be MUCH longer.
