They both have hairline scratches in the rear silver brushed metal. I have never put them in my pocket and would like to see if I could remove the scratches. I used a silicon and also a gun cloth and did not help. I am a perfectionist and it bugs me that they came to me that way. Spyderco turnaround time to repair and cost to ship are an issue but a possible alternative. Any available solutions such as some type of material I can try like rubbing semi-chrome paste with a different or same type of cloth. Thanks for your appreciated input. I am grateful to have this forum for answers to knife questions

Some Flitz might help.

Otherwise grab some fine sandpaper and go at it.

what sort of polishing compounds do you have? Anything from stropping compounds to automotive polishing compounds will work. Depending on the scratches, some 2000 grit autobody sandpaper can be used before final polishing.

I use the green fine polishing compound and a buffing wheel or my dremel for heavy polishing jobs.
