Visited the 6th Annual Helsinki International Knife Show (Custom Knives) and ended up buying two hand made knives from the following bladesmiths in person:
1. Carbon steel chef knife made by a Finnish bladesmith Jani Ryynänen. Handle and sheath are made from pirch. The blade has a flat single bevel grind. A very solid knife.
2. K-1 by Lithuanian bladesmith Andrius Tricius (www.trcknives.com). An excellent knife with a really solid feel and full tang construction. The bladeis 115 mm (4.4 inches) and the overall lenght is 235 mm (9 inches). The blade is 4.8 mm thich (about 0.2 inch). The steel is powdered steel (ELMAX, heat/cryo treated, HRC 59-60). Black micarta canvas handle and moulded Kydex sheath.
