Just finished my second attempt at creating a pommel cap for a 43 style kuk. Creating the blank out of rolled steel went much faster in the negative wooden mold created on the end of a 2x4. Not as much hammering it seems and cutting the rivet hole after forming the arch really was a lot easier.
Curiousity got the better of me, so I went ahead and adhered the cap to the handle using a glue gun placing the glue in the cap versus on the handle. A light solder on the rivet hole, filed the excess and buffed on the bench grinder.
I figure if I actually develope any talent....at some point.....I can easily reverse the process and remove the cap. Definately not adhered for usage but looks....
Thanks to everyone for their previous inputs
