There are some thread talk about version 1 and I think that Version 1 is the real one. But how about the version 2? Please give me any information bout this.
Thank you very much.

Hello from what I was told VER 1 was the real deal but only ment to be sold with the AL MAR display case, medals, challenge coin, COA, & BOOK My Col. Rowe..

THe 2nd VER was never authorized and someone used the model 4008-SF (developed by Col.Rowe and put laser etching.. I believe VER#2 is not a authorized commenorative because look at the grind its NOT FLAT.. The FLAT GRIND would be the correct one to commemorative an American Hero such as Col. Rowe was.. The 2nd ver in my opinion was just someone trying to make buck..

Dear dax0007
Thank you very much. The version 2, is this value for collecting? How about the price for it?
Thank agains

awesome pic gurlyman! Thanks for sharing! He was definately a AMERICAN ICON and he could easiliy say he been there and done that!
Shame he was put in harms way after all he did for this country.. They should of kept him home.. Oh well..

As for the 2nd ver.. I am sure FEEBAY could get 300-500 minus fees, but again I am forsure AL MAR never commision commenritive knives WITHOUT the flat grind.. That would make no sense!! You need the FLAT GRIND to have a proper commemorative knife on the blade..

As for you 1st first! I would love to have it, but I am afraid Gurlman is right without the AL MAR CASE< book, medals, challenge coin, and COA value is in my opinion 300-500.. But still cool to own.. both are cool to own!

THE PICS SHOW A JAPANESE CATALOG FROM G.Sakai selling AL MARS.. You can see both of your variations.. G.Sakai cause so major issues, at one time they were a great company..

The other pic is MY #009 AL MAR Col.Rowe COMPLETED!! I seen JUST THE OAK CASE ALONG SELL FOR 700$

@dax0007: If you have higher resolution of almar 11 picture. Could you sent me via email:tviettoan@yahoo.com or you can tell me the link where I can find some material related to Al Mar knife. I want to read about the Al Mar Knives more.
Thank you very much

go ask http://www.mooreknives.net/ Scot moore he knows more about AL MARS than anyone i have talk to in 10 years..

I m 110% sure he will tell u the same stuff i told u about your Col.Rowe bowies.. One is real, but without all the other stuff to make it a full commemoratives.. the 2nd one is just fake..

As for the pics.. I got them from a OLD JAP YAHOO WEBSITE.. I dont have highresolution.. just the screen shots i sent.. I capture them cause i know they were rare pics of AL MARS in japan...

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH

Scott is a great guy, but he doesn't know as much as I do... ;)

The bottom knife is a 4008-B with special etching. Both are foreign market pieces.

We made 200 numbered sets of the Rowe Commemorative as shown in DAX0007's photo. They're tough to find these days...

The flat ground knife was not available separately here in the U.S.

Great info. RyAnne.. Always wondered about these two versions.. Wondering if you know difference between SEKI JAPAN marked 3003 SERE and ones with just the 3 digit # on reverse tang..

What is a complete set worth? I found one everything seems to be there but the case glass is broken. Serial number #16
