There are good INFI days....and there are great INFI days. Today was a great INFI day.
An exceptional HOG recently traded me these pieces of Busse history and they showed up on my doorstep today.
He told me holding them was a very unique experience and he was right.
I had never held a Straight Handled Busse, but they have an amazing feel. The ergos, the weight, the looks....Wow!
I am even more impressed with Jerry and with Busse in general after holding knives he was making two decades ago.
Enough from me. Both knives are A2 tool steel and feature non-slotted bolts.
Interestingly, the tops and bottoms of the spine are polished...but on the handle section only. The pommell, spine and all, has the coating on it.
The smooth coating is very appealing. The micarta is gorgeous.
Just to add to the fun, each knife came with all of the original material Jerry sent to buyer, including:
The original Busse foldout fliers for the Steel Heart 2, Badger Attack, Mean Street, American Kensai, Combat Recruit and Stealth Hawk;
a yellow Busse Combat authentication paper, complete with sharpening instructions on back; and the original sheaths (Kydex for the SHBA and Eagle for the Meaner).
I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I have being exposed to this part of Busse history.
