Glad that I bought both from a dealer who shows pictures from the item for sale in his shop and not sample pictures. So I was able to pick this one with its beautiful Box Elder Burl, particularly with the "black line", which is caused by a mushroom inside the wood.

Stefan, you continue to impress! Amazing photos! That has got to be the best looking Box Elder I've seen. Beautiful, congrats!

Crap...now a box elder is on my list. Beautiful knives, thanks for taking the time to photograph and post

Thanks guys!

As said above. Buying a wood inlay Mnandi or Sebenza it can help a lot if the dealer takes pictures from the knives which are actually for sale, instead of using sample pictures. I mean there is no real "ugly" box elder, gabon ebony, snakewood, cocobolo or bocote arround, which would make it into CR's manufacturing process. Nothing to be worried about. But there are differences in colors, brightness and pattern. A surprise can be fun. But I prefer WYSIWYG :-)

Just as an example the above Mnandi with damascus blade and my edc Mnandi, with S35V blade:

One of the main variations you can find with box elder is the color. It can be darker, more into the direction of "red, orange", or brighter, more into "yellow".

Congrats. Wonderful.

If that box elder had an old nail tick it would be the best ever. Fantastic none the less.

I wouldn't kick those knives out of bed for eating crackers!:D

Amazing photos, superb knives, that's all good

Great pics!!! I really like that Box Elder. The dark line really sets it off.
