I earned an engineering degree in Golden, Colorado in the early 80s. I remember passing Spyderco on numerous occasions and admiring the innovativeness of the company. All these years later, I'm on the downhill side of my career as an Air Force civil engineering officer and getting set to deploy to Southwest Asia. I own several knives, including several Spydies, but for this trip I decided I need to take a PE S30V Military. Incredible knife, no doubt, and I like it just a little bit more every time I read "Golden, Colorado, U.S.A. Earth" on the blade. Thanks, Sal; I'm confident in my Military and damn glad to have a piece of Golden to take with me.

IMO, mg, I don't think that you could have chosen a better Spydie(or other knife, for that matter) to take with you on your deployment. Sal intended the Military to be the knife to have on you "if you could only have one" and I'm sure that your Millie won't let you down. (You can read more on that at this link HERE.)

Good luck and Godspeed with your overseas duty.

BTW....cool username....
