Just finished the below up and was wondering what type of sheath I should do. I'm torn between a fold over or a pancake and was just curious.

Wow, that's a beauty!

For that, a fold-over. No, a pancake. No, wait...

Shoot, I'm no help. Good luck, and we'll need pics when you decide! :D

Do what I do when I can't decide, make em both. Then show them to us and we'll tell you which one you shouldn't have made.:D

You guys are a crack up!

How will you be carrying it and what for? A fold over wouldn't have to have a snap down strap thus the knife could be removed and inserted easily one handed. That's a bit more difficult with a tie down on the typical pancake style. But then a pancake can be flatter and less bulky.

Hmmm, maybe we need to see both after all.

No need to have a snap strap on a pancake - just design/make it to come up over the grip like a fold over, but sew along both edges.........If you need help figuring out how-to just ask..on hint you need to flare the top of the pattern out slightly in order to allow for the thickness of the grip..........the malleability of leather is a wonderful thing.........

Phil,

It's not gonna be for me, just another for sale item. I don't ever seem to make anything for me...

Chuck,

I was thinking along those lines. How far up the grip do you think I should take it? I never seem to go quite far enough.

Well I decided on a simple fold over pouch style, trying to stay with traditional. Let me know your thoughts!
