Type of Steel in Leek?

I bought a new Black leek 1660CKT date March07 on Friday at Smokey Mountain Knifeworks. The salesman said it was Sanvik and that all begining in Feb07 were Sanvik. However now looking at some of Thomas's posts it looks like I was informed wrong and that no leeks are Sanvik yet? Is this true?

I also picked up a cyclone which he said all cyclones were sanvik and never had been made with any other steel?

Thoughts?

According to the website they are Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel, Im not sure when the made the switch from 440a to Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel though.

Your Leek is done up in 440A not 13C26. I'll let everyone know when the changeover takes place.

The Cyclones are all and have always been 13C26.

Thanks Thomas,

I probably would have bought it anyway, but he should not have told me that. "Buyer Beware" I guess.

I expected more from them since Knives are their main business.

The steel change over has been challenging, confusing, and quite simply a PIA, but like I said, I hope to have a log for you shortly on the change over knives.
