I have always liked knives that looked tactical. (not fantacy ones) I was wondering if this will be the same for the rest of my life? or change to knives that look more classic and simple? Do you have any experiences?

Your taste will change with experience and your financial resources. Don't worry about it. Buy what you like, but save for quality merchandise. The only thing you will ever regret is buying junk.

I loved tactical style knives when I was younger, nothign crazy either Mostkly microtech, thats all I boyught for a few months, then I got into balisongs, then I only bought balsiongs for about 4 months...but now I like so many different kinds of knives its sooo hard to pick the next purchase...I find myself liking some slipjoints too..As time passes you may change your mind as to what you like the most...or hey, maybe not?

The types of knives I like changes, but slowly over time. If I buy a few small blade folders, I usually start wanting a big one. Or I'll fancy tactical knives for a while then start leaning toward gents knives. I buy what I like. Sometimes Ill look at a knive and wonder why the hell I ever bought something like that, only to be wanting something similar to it a year later.

I used to like large Tactical folders but now my tastes have changed. I now prefer small gent folders.

+1000 amen! The only thing you will ever regret is buying junk !!!!!

I started off liking hunting knives and bayonets. Later on my taste changed to tactical folders. Now it is bowies and fighters. I have no idea what will come next.

I started off with small simple folders, then went on to large elaborate ones.
Now I'm into small FBs... I wonder whether large FBs will be next :-)

My preference has definitely evolved, and I think yours will too.
I've gone through many different phazes, and at this point my preference goes with my mood.
However, I (nearly) always have a slipjoint (traditional folder, usually a stockman or a trapper) in one pocket, and a one-hander in the other. Two different types of tool, for different types of work, or even different environments - some people don't react well to "tactical" knives, so it's necessary that I use something less intimidating.

Your taste will change over time. Don't worry about it, it's normal. Enjoy!

I'm pretty practical about knife choices(if not about the number of knives I own for a given purpose), but they change periodically.
When I was doing a lot of outdoor work clearing or maintaining a wooded area, I was into choppers, sometimes machetes, and got my interest stirred about axes.
When I was using a knife constantly on the job, "tactical" folders got a lot of my attention.
Since I've moved and changed job positions, and have little use for either of those anymore, I'm kind of lost for a good excuse to buy anything new. I find myself using an SAK or Opinel around the house while many of my favorite knives collect dust.
It's kind of sad:(
Probably a good thing, since I don't have a bunch of extra money to spend on knives right now, anyway.
That's kind of sad, too:D

very little, if anything, in life stays static over a lifetime in terms of preference.

not cars, not clothes, nor drink or women.

and sure as hell not knives. :p

In my early teens I loved the tactical look, especially over the top MOD type designs, now that I'm in my late teens (I'm so much older and wiser now :p), I don't like the tactical look. I'm sure this question is more psychological than anything. Doesn't everyone's tastes in just about anything change over time? It could be subtle changes, of course.
