I am new to wood carving and went out and bought a set of Hiro wood carving knives (they fit my budget). On the box they came in they designated the steel as; V. S Steel. What does this mean?
It looks to me like its made from V-Toku #2 High Carbon steel. If that is the case, I would assume the V stands for V-toku, and the S for steel. Just a guess though. So long as they work well thats all that matters. Have fun carving!
