So I know you're probably not supposed to do this - but does anyone know how to dissassemble a Tyrade? Second question - if I wanted to paint the handles black ( requires baking in oven) - how difficult is it to remove the carbon fibre pieces? Are they a onlay or inlay? remember - if at this point you want to bang your head against the monitor -go gently if it's a LCD or you'll knock it right over.

No disassemble Johnnie5!

Actually, since I just received mine today, I can't answer the question.
I'm surprised no one else has chimed in yet. Someone has bound
to take one apart by now.

Everyone who's handled the passaround Tyrade, myself included, seems to have thought the same thing - how would you take it apart? Haven't seen any comments from folks at Kershaw regarding the construction. Perhaps it's something they would prefer not to share in public.

I wouldn't if I were you,but I am not you am I.You brought up a good point though I believe the inserts are inlaid.

there are a lot of knives that have this "feature"... it's meant to give the knife a cleaner look, I believe, at the sacrifice of anything close to an easy time taking it apart. I'm sure the screws are under the inlay. so you would have to remove that on one side only to disassemble. BUT, you will probably end up hurting the inlay, yourself or the handle. If there is a problem with the knife, I would send it to Kershaw. this kind of thing doesn't bother me on a well built knife like the Tyrade, with great customer service.... OR a well made custom. But there are cheap knives out there that are just as difficult... and I feel I should be able to get in there easier. I LIKE the way it is, the look, and am happy to send to Kershaw instead.
