Hello STR. Still loving my new foldover clip you made for my Tyrade. I have a question though. Could you make some micarta panels for the Tyrade? It would meen getting rid of the cf insert and making some full panels and having to drill and tap some holes to hold them on. I have a second Tyrade coming that will remain stock, but I would love to have my current Tyrade dressed up like this to give me a little bit fuller hold.

Tyrade question on cf insert

I really know nothing about how those CF overscales are installed on there from the factory other than a vaque description from Thomas when we briefly discussed it in a PM and from the sounds of it I have to wonder how I'm going to get mine off when I need to for the first torsion spring replacement without dinging them up from taking them off. I understand they are not only attached physically in some way but also glued on there with some black max or something of that sort.
So, my point is that without seeing them and having them out separated away from the folder I can't tell you if I could copy them or not. For all I know there are snap in extensions or plugs on the underside of them that were CNC made to fit precisely into recessed holes in the titanium slab sides for the screws or they are flat and just held in place in some other way on the frame. I won't know until I see them. I can tell you if there are snap in plugs holding them on there that I can't duplicate that. I can also assure you that I do not look forward to the day my spring snaps and I am to the point I have to replace it. I am really hoping that someone posts detailed pics of what I'm up against before that so I can properly prepare and not damage my CF overscales anymore than I have to to get them off.
