I have a Tyrade. How does this stack up against the Zero Tolerance knives? They look similar, the Tyrade is big and solid, similar materials, similar features. What are the differences?

I've never owned or seen a Tyrade other than in pictures but I'd have to say the liners are probably not as thick as the ZTs, and the blade thickness might not be as much. Might be a close match to the 0350, but the others in the ZT lineup are seriously overbuilt.

Actually i have the tyrade g10, a zt 200 and a zt300, and would have to say that the tyrade is VERY close to the 200 except in the handle construction. The tyrades' g10 isn't as subsational or as well finished as the 200. The blade and liner thickness is so close as to be visually the same. And i got the tyrade after the 200 and thought that the 200 was going to be the bigger knife, but was pleasently surprised to find they are almost the same there too. IMO the tyrade is just slightly under the quality of the zt, but only really in the cosmetic department, structually i would call them even. Hope that helps!

The G10 Tyrade and the ZT 0200 are very comparable size-wise. The 0350 is closer in feel (in a slightly smaller package), especially with the AO. The biggest difference, IMO, is the pocket clip. ;)

So that must mean the 0200 is a steal for the money compared to the Tyrade huh?

The liner-lock and blade thickness is the same for the 0200 and Tyrade. The Tyrade blade is thicker than the 0350 (0.15" v. 0.12"), but the liner-lock is the same thickness (0.07").

The best bang for the buck when they were still available new, were the G10 Tyrades. Wish I would've bought more than one.

Thanks for all the replies. The Tyrade is heftiest, most solid folder I have by far. I suspected that it approached the "overbuiltness" of a ZT.

Mine is a G10, and black, like the stolen photo in the first post. I was on the fence about a tan handle (just like the black G10 handle but a different color, not the Ti two tone), and should have "got both"

The G-10 Tyrades, @~$80, were the definate steal:thumbup::thumbup:. They had the same thick liners of the ZT0200 which were .080", and the blades were left over from the original titanium Tyrade project. The blades were composite blades with CPMD2 as the cutting portion and were .157" thick, same as the ZT0200. The G-10 was flat on these, but still good and grippy due to the handle design. If I remember correctly, the pocket clips were a similar, but smaller design of the original Tyrade.:)

Btw, they came in black, tan, and orange. The blue G-10 never made it to production.

Yep; the G-10 Tyrades are excellent blades. It seems they could have easily been branded ZT; particularly if they added some 3D G-10.

When i got my first ZT in and compared it with my Tyrade, I was very pleased at how well the tyrade was made. I payed $85 for my g10 tyrade and i'de trust it every bit as much as most of the ZT lineup.

The jyd ii cb is very much the same build as the g10 tyrade. I perfer it slightly as no ao is used. They are both great knives.

The Titanium Tyrade fits right in, as far as robustness goes. It out-does the ZT line in beauty, though.:D

Glad I got a Ti Ty, but wish I had a G-10 one as well.

I just got a nib ti Tyrade this week....and it is a beautil knife. Getting a g-10 Tyrade next

week. The stop pin on my 0200 is just a little bigger than on the ti tyrade....so yes I'd say

the 0200 and the Tyrade are very compareable.
