I am new to this forum, and want to say hello to everyone. I owned a ZT200 about a year ago, and really liked it, and have always wanted another one. The place where I buy knives, does not carry ZT, but they may have the Tyrade. I was wondering how it compares? I have to order the knives, so I could not handle one.

A few points of interest on the Tyrade.
Composite Blade of CPM D2 (edge) and 154CM (spine). Nice
The D2 gets super sharp. Nice
There is just a slight recurve to the blade, (nothing like an 0301) so even the recurvaphobics can sharpen it.
Ti slabs with Carbon Fiber onlays/inlays. Nice
AO is extremely fast. Nice
Has to be one big torsion bar in there.

If you liked your 0200 just a little, you'll really like the Tyrade.

Excellent materials and design for the money. A factory "custom" if you will.

I have a Tyrade and though it is a really nice knife I tend to carry my JYD II Titanium because it is light and easier to carry, but you won't regret the Tyrade either.

I have both the Tyrade and the JYD II. I prefer the Tyrade between the two, because of the Tyrade's AO function. As much as I've practiced with the JYD II flipper lever, the JYD II requires me to do a wrist flick in order to open the blade all the way, but the Tyrade flies right open. The Tyrade is my favorite from Kershaw -- a quality tool for sure.

for the jyd ii, try loosening the pivot a bit and use the preload technique found in the booklet that came with the knife. Love the tyrade btw; must add t
It to the list

While I cannot compare it to a ZT, I can say that both the JYDII CB and the Tyrade are great.

The JYDII is like a economical version of the Tyrade imo. They feel similar in the hand, both open fast, both have great CPM-D2, both lock up very well. However, the Tyrade is just a bit better in all those aspects.

The Tyrade is an awesome knife. Kershaw really nailed the mechanics of the framelock on this knife, not that they haven't done that on their other framelocks, it's just that this is the biggest, and thickest one they make and in my eyes is perfectly done! The only problem with mine is that I gave it to my son to carry and now can't get it back!!;):D I set mine up with a deep ride clip from STR and it was the perfect edc for me, and now my son!:D

Razor,

The Tyrade is great! I was away for the weekend, and when I returned had a package waiting for me from Oregon - huge thank you once again to Thomas and Kershaw!

I'm taking it fishing with me this weekend, until then, it is sadly reduced to kitchen duty...where it performs perfectly, of course.

The knife is truly a masterpiece - flawlessly constructed. There is zero blade play, the lockup mechanism is perfect, and the overall design of the knife is beyond description - you have to use one/hold one to see how well made this is.

I was planning on letting some family members and friends borrow it, so they can enjoy it as well, but, I may be selfish with this one and not let them use it at all.

I fully recommend it! I'll be using mine for camping, hiking, fishing, and general around the house use...and without a doubt, it will perform beyond expectation.

Take care

I know what knife I am going to buy next! What seems to be the going price for these?

I've seen them in the $185 to $215 range.
Just check around. Don't wait to long.....there in limited supply.
