I've got three 12 inch AKs that I'll deliver to your door for $65. That's a $35 saving off regular. If I can find a blem among them I'll send that one last.

Call or email to take advantage of this early Christmas present for forumites.

...on little Khuks, again - They're still bigger than lts of grown-up Bowies:eek:

Wildmanh, who made yours? The one I got out of this deal was made by Kesar. Very nicely done, wish the handle was about .375-.500" longer though. Used lime juice to bring out the temper line and hand polished it with very fine polishing compound; turned out pretty good. Is your scabbard tooled? Mine has the man in the sun and a bird on it, and the leather looks like it was waxed which is different from my other khuks. Haveagudn, stevomiller

Steve, mine was made by Durba. You got a Kesar? You lucky duck, I have one Kesar and want more. Check out my review here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=178076

The Scabard is tooled with what looks like Leaves and Vines. The whole rig is really well made. Ops, I forgot to talk about the scabard on the review, got to go add that.

BTW: Can you email me a pic of the blade? I would love to see how it turned out.:)

Is your tip pointy or more blunt? Mine is pointy, just the way I like em. :D

Heber, the 12" AK I got is pretty pointy (also the way I like them). My KNN Kobra is pointy, but not as much so as some I've seen. My Durba WWII has more of a blunt "bull nose", kinda like a skinning knife. Next time I order a HI khuk I'm gonna ask uncle to dig me up one that has a good point for thrusting. About the photo- my computer at home is dead and my current employer doesn't appreciate khuks enough to let me bring them to work and photo. If you want to etch your blade it's real easy 1) COMPLETELY degrease the blade. I cleaned mine with hand dishwashing soap and hot water. Repeat a couple times. 2) While blade is still hot from the water, rub a half of a cut lime on the blade. Rub pretty hard and fast and kinda keep squeezing fresh juice out of the lime. after a while you will see the temper line or hamon appear, and the hard edge will turn dark. Wash off the lime juice with soap and water real well, and oil the blade to prevent it from rusting. 3) use a soft cloth and a very fine polishing compound (I use automotive paint rubbing compound) to remove the oxidation or patina from the blade. If you don't overdo it the hamon will remain and the oxidation will come off. You can repeat the above steps a couple of times to make the line more pronounced. Good luck, gotta sign off now, stevomiller
