For me as well Tatsuo. I am waiting on a 15" Sirupati as well.
Although I don't know why, it must be HIKV that's controlling me.
I have the 18" Chainpuri blade I got in Reno ready to put a handle on.
And it won't be easily recognised as the same blade I brought home.
Hopefully it will be a full curving khukuri if I can get the handle just right.
That's what is keeping it from being finished in a short time. I just don't have the vision as yet.
The blade itself is beautiful and sensuous. I am already somewhat frightened at what it tells me.
It will not be one that I own, as most of the few exotic blades I have in my keeping are, just one that I am to take care of until sometime in the future. That's alright though as I have had a Keris in my keeping for over 20 years.

Will you look at the shine on that handle? I can see Bill in it! Hi, Uncle!

"President Clinton learned there were 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. Since Clinton was so upset with ranchers' protests over his grazing policies, he told U.S. Secretary of Interior Bruce Babbitt to fire half the cattle guards immediately. Before Babbitt could proceed with the President's wishes, Colorado representative Pat Schroeder intervened with a request that before any were fired, they would be given six months of retraining."

Yvsa, i feel your pain. i have been waiting for a 12" and a 15" sirupati for almost 2 months now. but then, these blades are worth waiting for, after all.

by the way, i do have the partial cure for HIKV: tendonitis. it helps me keep my fingers off of any khukuri over 1.5 pounds.

Tasuo: Before you let them splint or cut your hands, *please* go find an experienced acupuncturist. If that person uses medicinal herbs and can make you a liniment as well, so much the better.

The more years in practise, the better; also if they teach martial arts in a combat fashion (not sport) they tend to know how to handle these things as a matter of course. We've been through this in my family and I am so glad we never let "them" (the MD's) perform surgery!

That's a beaut! Not as light as the Kumar Kobras, but not heavy either. Despite my current funds shortage, I'm sorry I wasn't on yesterday when that got posted. I hadn't yet seen this item, but just last night as I was swinging my 18" AK (which isn't exactly a ton, but it is hefty), I was thinking I'd like to get a Sanu-made 18" light sirupati with a horn handle as my next dose of iron for treatment of HIKV-induced anemia.

Loki --- this 18" Sirupati is a beauty --- the moment I saw this thread, I knew that it was gone --- otherwise surely I grab it --- I have a special interest in Sirupati and Chainpuri --- it has a slender shape, tapered tip and narrow blade.

Yvsa --- Keris is a very artistic blade --- a Malay traditional weapon --- purely a weapon --- creatively forged & shaped so that it has a blended touch of beauty yet scary & haunting --- long time ago it was used by Pendekar (a name given Malay martial artist) in executing a very cunning & artistic way of killing! Take real care of it ...

I personally prefer Sirupati or Chainpuri ... !

The position of HI Psychic is open, Paul.

It sure is open. If I were any good at it I would have been on in time to grab this one.

I'm sure whoever got this khuk will give it a good home.

Yeah, that's the guy.

Don't worry, Uncle Bill, none of us poor HIKV sufferers are likely to tune out.
