Here is the first effort of our new kami, Durba. You can see his mark pretty well in the lower pix -- looks like an outline of the flag of Nepal to me. It is a 16 inch silver mounted Ang Khola and weighs in at 1.5 pounds. It looks to be a khukuri that is up to BirGorkha standards and very nicely silver mounted. Fit, finish, hardness all there. Nice bolster but old style traditional buttcap. (he'll learn) Karda and chakma very nicely done and thicker than usual. I like his karda. The scabbard is made and tooled by the sarki with no name and well done with silver chape. Frog is HI 100 year superfrog.
I find one cosmetic flaw on this knife and that's a tiny crack at the cho which is a common flaw but one that never causes any problem.
We will deliver this rig to your door for $100 -- introductory price plus something off for the cosmetic flaw. You get the silver free and you also get the first khukuri to be offered by Durba. I'll find out more about him in the near future. I do know that he brought his helper with him.
Call or email if interested. Nice rig for collectors since it's a number one.
Send a field report on Durba when you get this one.
