Here's a 17 inch, 29 ounce, silver mounted YCS made and marked by Sanu and I rate it at about 9.9 out of 10. It's the first YCS to come in with a horn handle and Sanu has done a very good job but I don't rate it as perfect so and that's why this is a UBDOTD. There are some very minor flaws in the handle work -- nothing serious but just not perfect. The blade, however, is 10/10.

Here's a close up of the handle work.

And here's a closeup of the alternate brass and copper inlay. I don't think this inlay is going to fall out!

The rig arrived missing the awl. I don't know if customs got it or if it was lost but it's no where to be found.

So for the slight imperfections in the handle and for the missing awl you get a fifty buck savings.

We will deliver this very, very good first horn handled YCS to your door for $195. And that's a pretty good UBDOTD.

Call or email if interested.

Who says that ol' Yvsa ain't fast on the button? ;)

Congrats, bro'.

Hey bro', if you do take it, send me the small knives. You don't want anything that small anyway, just ask Tsimi. I'd be doing you a favor takin' those two, small, measly little fixed blades off your hands. ;)

Send it my way and I will pay you when you're here for the Khonvention.:D
I may be able to fix the flaws in the handles, but it doesn't matter anyway.
It will still be a beautiful using khukuri along with my wood handled one.
The very first YCS is being kept in pretty much a pristine condition and at the moment can't recall if I repolished it after testing or not, but I'm pretty sure I did.:)
The very first one is flawless and for some odd reason comes to a really nice point instead of the rounded contours of all the ones made after it.

I really need to build some shelves in my safe so I can get at the khukuri I want easily. Right now if you move one the rest is liable to fall out.
Maybe I need another safe just too hold my collection of khukuri's that keeps growing in spite of my restraint.:D

You're a blessed man Yvsa. I wonder how many more of these are on the way? Was this just a fluke or is this going to be a standard item now?

Blues my Brother did you forget for a moment that you're talking to a Bro that also has a Very Fond place in his heart for
puukkos?;)

Now you know I can't break up what's left of the set.:D I mean after all Fate has somehow already taken the awl.:(

Well, then, I guess I'm "Finnish"ed. ;)

What's the world coming to? Nepali influenced Cherokees with a predilection for Scandinavian steel. It's all going to Helsinki in a handbasket! :D

:barf: (puke-o, not puukko)

Yes? You've got my attention. (Here comes the hook. They're only available in Catoosa. ;))

So, what is it you want to tell me Uncle?

I don't know if I should laugh or be concerned that I'm starting to figure out your ways. :D
