Hey fellas .. and ladies !!

What experiences have you Oobie owners had, overall feel, chopping - slicing abilities. Also has abyone re-worked their handles or sheaths. I personally don't have the need for the karda and chakma most of the time so would like to make a more traditional bowie style sheath for it.

Thanks for help

B

pictures would be very good.

Brendan,

I had Terry Sisco make a beautiful quick-draw sheath for my UBE. With the one it came with, it took about 23.73 minutes to re-sheath the blade, if I didn't want to put the point through the leather. (timing is approximate). Terry made a separate sheath for the c&k, so the main one is quite slim. Love it.

Very nice chopper, good weight and balance. Will be using it on a large pile of brush this weekend, weather permitting.

Hope you like yours.

Brendan,
My UBE will resheath just fine in the original sheath.
But, I would highly recommend a quick draw by TSarki(Terry Sisco).
Have one of those for my Movie Model and it's great. Similar curves to the UBE with the upswept point. Give him an call or email. UBE is a great bowie design.

Balances like a Bowie instead of a khukuri, handles very fast, feels much lighter than it actually is. Oversized handle for big mitts like mine. In a special class of its own. Hope you don't have to wait too long for it to get there. ;)

Radhorn - why did you have to go and say that !!!

A man asks a normal question, anxious enough about the wait for his new steel and bang his mates pop the big one on him !!

:(
