Here's phase three of Mark Williams aka Williams Forge & my (Chuck Burrows aka Wild Rose Trading Co) collaboration pipehawk. The thread hanging below the mouthpiece is for attaching Phase 4 which should be finished by the end of the week.
The grip is buffalo (American Bison) rawhide sewn with elk sinew. The beaded bands are sewn onto brain tan buckskin.

Lookin Great UB #1 The next step is really going to bring it all together with the color contrasts.

Wow, That's great looking. It will be even better when it's done.

Hey Mark, talk about your sholder aking. When I got home today the drift was on the front porch. I won't have time to light a fire wntil at least thursday. Can't wait to try it out.

Just remember Larry

One hand holding the tongs, one hand holding the drift and strike with the other hand.

This is one face of the drop - the other face will be a beaded open work floral design and have full spaghetti fringe. The two faces will be joined with a beaded stitch line around the perimeter - Linda's back is giving her fits though after baking bread and making me a pizza so ya'll will just have to wait.....

So that's what I was supposed to do with the other hand????

I see there is a long way to go with fit and finish once I get the hang of forging these things. This one just keeps getting better.
