Hi guys and galls, just thought I'd write in and give you guys an update as to how things are going. I've been kind of quiet lately but for good reasons.

For those that don't know, at the end of July I moved out of my brother Seth's house in to an apartment next door. My new place is nice, though the rooms are a little small. It's student housing with lots of cool people living here. And tons on lovely ladies. :D There are 5 of us in this apartment and most of us are computer geeks and semi knife/sword people so it works out pretty well. About half of my things are unpacked.. Still trying to locate a box of knives and another box of leather supplies. I know they have to be here somewhere... I moved acrost an ally way not acrost state. LOL!! :o

Am currently single and looking. Been going on a few dates, but nothing serious. Will hopefully be doing more of that in the near future.

2 weeks ago to day I bought my brothers old car, a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am coup with the 3.3L V6 engine. Doesn't get the best gas milage, but it sure is fun to drive and nice to have. Plus it's easier to go on dates now that I have a car and am not stuck riding the bus everywhere. Though I plan on taking the bus to and from work when ever possible. The car is more for weekends and long trips.

For those that have been asking, my wrist is doing well, I have probably 90% mobility in it and about 70% strenght. though it does act up every once in a while. The elbow is mostly good, since it's cronic Popeye elbow I have to be carefull so as not to bump it or over stress it, and think I mostly have that down. Life is good.

The sad news is that my older brother inlaw Reed passed away today from cancer in the lungs and brain. About a month ago he got sick and just wasn't feeling good. Didn't know what was wrong. About 2 weeks ago he went to sleep and didn't wake up for a while. Was in a comma for a week or two, then woke up and the doctors gave him a few weeks to live. Sunday my sister was able to take him home and care for him, with Hospis coming in every few days to do check ups. His children flew in when he got out of the comma and as far as I know most were home when he passed. I'm glad he isn't suffering any more but am really sad too. Funeral is set for Saturday. Won't be able to make it, so I'll go camping instead and remember the fun times we had in years past. Dutch Oven dinner with friends, camping, hiking, rock climbing and of course the knives will be in use to cut wood and do other camp chores. My brother inlaw Reed was a good man, strong in his faith and respected by many people. He will be missed.

Other than that, things are good. Am active in the BYU Outdoor Adventure club this week. We head to Moab and Arches next weekend. Should be a fun semester. :)

Hope everyone is doing good. I should be around more in the next few days, my boss gave me the weekend off. I need to call family and friends to let them know whats up. God Bless!!

We have reminders of passing all the time. If not directly in our own families, or in our extended families, then within our spheres of influence. I'm sorry for your loss, Wildmanh. I think camping and remembering the good times is a fine honorific.

I hope your health continues to improve. Drop by more often.

Heber, that was some slice. Hope you didn't do it with that famous 25" AK!

Enjoyed your site. See you like the SRKW's also.

Will remember Reed tomorrow at sunset. :(

Moab reference makes me remember the MOAB bomb which they tested nearby. Shook half the county. Some kinda huge fuel-air bomb. Hope they drop it on a certain snake-hole in Afghanistan one day.

Be well,
Mike

Sorry to hear of your families loss Heber...glad to hear other things are moving along.

Thanks for the update, Heber. I'm saddened by your loss, but it sounds like you have a weekend planned that will remember him well. Take care of that arm, and keep us posted on the lady situation. Good to hear from you, friend.

Jake

I advised a man on another list to do almost the same thing . Get in the woods and remember the good times , maybe a drink in remembrance at the end of the day . One day at a time .

Heber,

Sorry to hear of all of your difficulties. Do you want me to send you some $$ for postage so you can send me my long lost Ganga villager that I sent to you last winter for a sheath? Summer is over and I won't need it for any stuff anyway much but I don't want to add anything else for you to do sounds like you got enough :(

Condolences to Reed's wife and kids. Sounds like Reed may have been much older than you, and hopefully, had a good run before passing.

My condolences on the loss of a relative and friend. Toast the good times you had; they live on in memory.

Chris

Guys, thanks for the support. My sister and her family in Idaho could curtainly use it right now.

I'm doing better then I was Wednesday for sure. Thursday afternoon I went up to Ogden Utah and hung out with a lady friend. We ate, went to a church Institute class, decorated her room and played games. Was a nice distraction.

Right now I'm getting ready for the campout. The grub box, clothes and hiking gear are ready to go. I still need to get the Parishables and bedding packed then load the car. Will be taking three Khukuri's with me, my 20" Sirupati, the 15" Sirupati and my 16.5" WWII. Along with a SOG Seal Revolver, Black Kabar, a pocket knife, 2 hunters and my new Ranger Knives Custom RD Hawk.

Jim, I just found the box of leather stuff this morning. Let me get back to you after the weekend. Who knows, I might be up for finishing the sheath next week/weekend. If you don't mind giving me the time. If not, I can ship it back soon. Money isn't needed for shipping. I figure that if I stay busy, I'll do better and this could probably help.

Everyone thanks again for the prayers and well wishes. Please keep them coming, like I said, I'm doing a bit better but the rest of my family could still use them.

Heber
