UG Timeframe

Since I don't seem to be very lucky finding a Pheasant Tail Sebenza, I've started thinking about designing or getting a design for a UG and getting CRK to produce it. Any idea how long that process might take? Any suggestions about how to go about coming up with a design?

It depends on what you are looking for as far as design goes. Simple = better for machining and engraving purposes. Think lines, arcs. The pheasant tail is actually a very simple design as it uses some lines, arcs and probably polylines.
Pictures can be converted to some extent, but are not necessarily CAD/CAM friendly, so a raster to vector program helps with this.

What were you leaning towards as far as a design if I might ask?

I've been looking at several clip art sites for simple pictures of trout and I've found several that I think would look awesome. But maybe too much detail.

You can create a decent file with a program called Inkscape- Raster to vector..

Find a pic that you like that has good contrast and run it through Inkscape- If you would like some help,..I have done this kind of thing a few times.
