OK, I cannot think about this anymore! I am looking at the Wilson Model 2 and the Gryphon M35 Bowie. I know the Gryphon is about $150 cheaper (which means I can also buy the Polkowski Amigo). But I just don't know what to go with.

The Wilson is D2 steel and the Gryphon is AUS-8A. Keep in mind, either of these knives will be used for hunting, camping.

Oh, the torment!

I've never owned the Gryphon so I can't comment on that but I've owned the Wilson Model 2. It was very sharp and nicely finished but the thing I was not crazy about was how thin the tip was, I guess it would depend on what you planned on using it for as to how important this is to you. Ryan was a pleasure to deal with though, he might be able to put a thicker tip on it if you wanted to. Would not hurt to call and find out, hope this helps you out.

While I don't have the M-35 Bowie, I do have both a Gryphon M-10 and Gryphon M-30, and they are well made, easily sharpened workhorses. D-2 will hold an edge a little longer than AUS-8, but is also harder to sharpen.
