ok, we've seen the most beautiful works of art here. if u dare, let's see the ugliest. here's mine. first forged attempt: 1/4" 5160, ~95% forged, triple heat treated and tempered. i was going to grind it down to a nice finish, but i thought, what the heck, i'm going to abuse the heck out of it to test the edge holding abilities. after 1 week of camping, chopping/prying wood every night, it still pops hair off my arm with ease.

Looks pretty good -- in a rough sort of way -- to me, exsanguinate. I like the blade shape, and the handle looks like it would be real nice if finished. (Of course, if it is finished, then I've now insulted you. Not my intent at all.)

I remember reading a Wayne Goddard column about how so many first forged blades tended to have this same look, most of them quite like a Green River blade shape. None of that here. Looks like you did a great job of getting the shape you wanted.

Keep it up! That's a very good start, IMO.

Here is a real ugly one. This was my first attempt at making a knife. I'm nearly through with #3 and its not much better, but I'm having fun though:D .
