ugliest knives...

Now, we all love knives, apparently, or we wouldn't be here, also we all appreciate a "good" blade. What that means is different from person to person, sturdy, fancy, custom, rugged, practical, etc. but aside from some completely rediculous fantasy blades, we've all seen some designs that are just in our own minds, ugly...

Not saying they aren't practical or useful, and certainly not saying that they're poor quality knifes, they're just designs that make our eyes hurt.

Here's one of mine I came across while shopping the other day; definitely not a fan, reminds me of an ugly bug.

I'm curious what some of yours are.

I'm going to get flamed for this and I'm sure it's excellent in hand but the Kershaw Tilt is by far the ugliest I've seen. Not counting impractical mall ninja crap that is.

I actually happen to like that knife. I don't see it as ugly; I don't see any knives as ugly. I only see them as useful or not useful.

However, to entertain your post, this is quite an odd design:

That link wasnt the same kind of "ugly" though cray (though some did fit the bill).

Many of those were knives that became ugly, through wear, neglect, abuse, etc. Some were gifts, but most were actually "nice" even in the owners eyes once upon a time.

I'm looking for designs, new out of the box, that you just think to yourself, "what were they thinking?"

And of course a lot of us will disagree Dave; some hate kurkis and bolos, others love them. Some hate tacticool, or skeletonized frames, or hard lines vs smooth curves, etc... That's why I'm curious, what you folks in here, knife afficianados of every walk, find "not - so - appealing"...

There was one in the EDC thread a couple of weeks back. Didn't look as bad as the stock photos if my memory serves me correct.

Lol, yeah, that Deviation is hideous...

On the flip side, I personally love the blur; to me its smooth edges I found appealling... Actually have two more in route so I'll have 3 by weeks end.

It's something about the shape that doesn't sit well for me, but I'm sure it's a fine piece. :D
