This was made from a "Rockin' Sand Blasted 8" Camp Knife" blank from Premium Knife Supply. It's based on knives from Dwaine Owens' Ugly Blade Knife Works. The design allows users to scrape food off a cutting board with the top of the blade rather than the cutting edge. This is 12 inches overall with a blade of 8 inches, made of 9Cr14 stainless. The scales are G10 (inner) and garolite G11 (outer), held on with epoxy and bolts that are actually folder pivots. One thing I hated about this blade is that the holes are an odd size, just a hair under 5 millimeters. I bought a 0.1960 inch (4.9780 millimeters) drill bit. The heads of the pivot are close to 5/16 inch. I don't know how the sand blast finish will work when slicing food. I made it for my sister, so I'll have to see what she and her husband say about it. I may get another one for myself.
