This has got to be the ugliest POS I've ever made. Its more of a failed experiment. Its also my first hidden tang knife I've made. On the plus side, I like the handle, though I think it belongs on a larger blade.

wow you are rite that is a ugly pos but it has some good design to it.i can see where you thined down the handle and made it more ergonimic.and the blade has a crazy upsweep like a little pirate sword.keep at it.each blade you make will be a little better than the previous one and pretty soon you will be making great blades.

Ugly? yeah. But still, looks like a knife that can cut well, for a long time. if you ask me, you are on a great path to making some great knives, and if you don't like that one, send it to me!

Sure. Send me a big check and I'll have it sent out right away. :D

If you cut a bit off of the top guard, and get rid of a chunk off of the top part of the handle, that thing will probably look a lot better. Clean it up some, and it should make a nice user.

Actually, the more I hold it, the more I kinda like it. The handle is very comfortable in my hands, so I won't change that. I may clean up the blade, but other than that, its staying the way it is.

This was orginally a "do something before I go stir crazy" project when we had about 2 ft of snow outside.

It looks like a mini cutlass with a leg chair for a handle :-). Beautiful. Your guys comments make me laugh. I think it would look better if you shined things up, it looks dull right now.

It has to be taken in context. If it's you first, it's Bad Ass! Put it away for safe keeping, you'll wish you had it if you lode it. Historical frame of ref. is invaluable.

If you've been doing this for 20 years you might need a little help.

Its about my 20th, but I lost count a while back, and I've been doing this for almost a year now. It is my first stick tang knife, and I tried a few other experiments, like using a forced air kerosene heater to heat the steel, and using epoxy to seal the wood.
