Four months ago we opened new shop number three with our two new Kamis,
Arjun and Lok BK, and the foreman, Jay Ram. My father is
supervising them and teaching them to make quality products.

Couple of months ago, I received 35 pieces of both villager and non-villager
knives and fittings made by my new Kamis. Because they are new to
our knives, their first shipment had very ugly knives in it. We
decided to call this ugly shipment of knives Ugly Villager Knives.

You forumites liked the Ugly villager Knives and just about all of
them sold rapidly on the blade forum. I got many positive comments
from forumites and regular customer about how much they liked the Ugly Villager Knives.

Our new Kamis, Arjun and Lok BK, will be happy to make more Ugly
Villager Knives for all you forumites. Our new foreman, Jay Ram, will
make sure they create good Ugly Villager Knives for you.
Here are few pix of new Kamis
Enjoy!

Always nice to see the faces of the people that go with the names you become so familiar with. Thank you Auntie.

I bought a couple of those.. Which Kami uses a tulip for his mark?? I'm assuming its one of them. Anyways, I've used both and put them through some difficult work. They have held up perfectly... If you get a chance to grab one of these, in my humble opinion, there outstanding, and cheap too.....

I got "ugly villager" #15, by Arjun. I think it's the same kami as yours. I also thought the mark was a tulip, but someone commented that it is a rose, and I have to agree.

Every time I pick it up I am impressed with how good it feels in the hand. The weight, length and balance are excellent. The shape and length of the handle is just right for my average-sized hand. The blade on #15 is even a dui chirra, though the shallow fullers did not show up in Yangdu's photos because of the dark forge scales. I'm undecided between leaving it as a more "authentic" ugly villager and working over the blade and handle to give it the finish that it deserves.

Bravo, Arjun.

p.s. (for Yangdu): Like others, I would definitely consider buying one or two more "ugly villagers," either for myself or to use as gifts. Keep them coming.

Sorry to post this old thread, but...

I own some kukris by these 2 Kamis.

(2) By Arjun. (the BAS was so well done, that i bought one of his a GRS villager too) His mark is a Rose. Seen it done a couple of ways. with hash marks inside the large petals, and a plainer one without them.

BAS by Arjun

(1) By Lok (the hanshe, which i love.) His mark is a very well done and complicated fish design.

Hanshe by Lok

Both of these men make straight smooth blades. Worth getting one just for the beautiful kami marks alone.
And look how hard they are working!
