...IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE

Thank's again Andy, as it was totally unexpected when you offered me your own blade for use on my trip in the Boundary Waters.
It was truly the most indespensable tool I had (next to my Mean Street of course).

The first thing I had to use it for was chopping (anything in sight of course

) then after playing around I started really using it for a variety of chores. Getting foil wrapped food off the fire was one of the best design considerations Jerry ever put into a knife. Oh, don't forget the handle

I have to say that the only knives I've really handled at this size are a Gerber BMF and Becker Brute and they don't even come close to the comfort and ease of the bolo with the dropped handle. At first during some chopping chores I must have been holding too tightly as a blistery feeling started to develop in my palm/thumb web area. As time went on and by changing grips I found that I was able to loosen my grip and I noticed that there was no more painful spot. Holding the handle as tightly didn't seem necessary with the hand positioned the way it is with the dropped handle. Now I really can't wait to get a hold of the BM-E and Camp Tramp. As far as the blade goes, the INFI held up beautifully and the knife handles smoothly. The only part of the design that I might reconsider for the project is the willow grind. It looks nice, but if trying to use a piece of wood on the spine as an aid during splitting you will only end up with a splintered mess in the process. Other than that, the camo slabs are very cool and the bolo is going to be a huge hit with those who are anticipating it's arrival

Besides the bolo working great, I cannot express enough thanks to Andy for his great service. He really puts his customers first, though he really needs to stop with the Barney thing.

Kevin...thanks for getting the cigar plaque moving in my arteries with the title of this post

I am glad the Bolo served you so well...you bring out a good point about the willow point and consider it noted....in fact, Jerry raised a similar thought during a recent conversation, and the AP Limited Bolo point will be a little modified from the Willow on the knife you used...in fact, if you look closely, that point has a hollow grind on top and a flat grind on the main bevel...this gives a GREAT visual effect and makes it lean.

The new Willow Point will probably be a little beefier for strength.

Your experience with the handle is also noted...one of the "unlearning" (as Yoda would say) processes which needs to be experienced when using the E handle when chopping is to reduce the wrist action normally employed when chopping with a straight handled knife....a firm, (but not rock solid) grip is all that is needed for maximum performance.

If you think my Barney is bad, you should see my Jar Jar Binks imitation...

Be well and feel free to return the knife in whatever condition it is in....don't worry about resharpening or cleaning it up or anything like that...it was my pleasure to be of assistance.

Andy,
I thought you quit smoking! Shame shame! LOL> I remember your face at blade show when you told me about your quiting experience. You looked like a little kid who was just told that he could never have candy again.
