My wife and I got to talking this morning about field dressing the White Tail deer we get every year hunting; and it's the small regular Sebbie she likes.
A few years ago she use to work for the DNR(Department of Natural Resources)checking deer in the state for age, TB, and what-not. I bought her the Aviator to do this because of the rugged construction and saw blade. Having to saw through bone and pry open rigomortis riddin mouths can be pretty tuff. Anyhow, she really likes the knife, but when it came to actual gutting, the blade was a little large and cumbersome. At the time I was carrying a small regular Sebenza when she took a large doe. It was the only knife we had between us then, so I let her use it to field dress the deer.
My mistake...:footinmou
A couple of days ago, after about a 2yr wait, I recieved my large regular "Midnight Sky", decorated Sebenza, with SS Damascus blade. Boy, what an incredible looking piece(sorry, I don't have the means to post a pic, and it's killing me, you guys deserve to see this). My wife was floored at how awesome this knife is. Now, understand, over the years she has carried everything from Spyderco to Benchmades to Kershaws, and every regular production folder in between, and never mention getting a Sebbie. Thank God!
Between my obsession and now hers, I'm not sure our bank account would never recover
Now she wants a small decorated Sebenza. I told her this morning, I stopped buying her knives for a reason. She changes what she carrys so often, I didn't see the need to get her a Sebbie if it was just going to lay around. She assured me that if I get her this, it will be her only carry piece! Oh, OK, why not?
Now I'm left to decide what type of graphic design to get on the knife for her. She loves wolves and lighthouses. I'm not sure what Lisa can do as far a carving a wolf on a handle. I believe I saw some type of lighthouse design at one time. Who knows, it should be fun trying to decide. Now that my wife needs a Sebenza fix, I'm sure she will love it either way.
