After dancing around the issue for months, I finally made a decision on my first "real" fixed blade: Dwyer D9. Lotta money, but it's a lotta knife, too. It'll get used, too.

Not sure what's going to happen next, but am fairly certain it won't be cheap. Seeking opinions on ICC products and combat swords.

Thx - GB

Wow, that D9 is a SWEET blade! You are going to LOVE it! I'm envious! Get your credit cards ready to buy more!!!

Welcome to the Jungle, baby!

Just curious.....because of the name...I'm compelled to ask if you are from Gila Bend, Arizona? If so...I've been through there many times.

BPman- I'm in AZ, east of PHX. Drive through Gila Bend alot. Thought it'd be nice handle...or a good name for a cheap tequila.

Didn't know I was collecting knives until I sorted through my camp box and found these:

M1905E1 bayonet, AFH 1943 (great for slicing champagne bottles)
M7 bayonet, BOC (came in a box of greasy old gun parts)
Camillus 5684 Marine Combat (recommended by a friend)
Buck 119 (a Christmas gift, still in the box)
Kershaw folder (bought at an Eddie Bauer store in 1985)

After purchasing a MT LUDT to replace a lost Delica in December, I decided to spring for a really nice fixed blade. The D9 is a good "buy it once" tool that should last more than a couple lifetimes with proper care.

I like the look of the ICC's but have not seen much posted about them. His combat sword looks interesting.

I have only seen pictures of the Dennis Phillips ICC knives. They sure look like they would stand up to anything you could throw at them. Tough looking knives.
