So until today, its been almost 2 years since I've purchased a knife. I bought a number of production knives, and sold most of them to purchase a sebenza and a burger. Between those two, and my m390 TSEK, I was set!

And then I contacted a custom maker here for a hunting knife. Ordered a few weeks ago and shipped today... And then I contacted another maker this morning about a little custom neck knife. I think I've fallen off the wagon boys and this time its back with a vengeance

Coming here for your issue is like having an intervention in a crack house. Just sayin'.

2 years without a knife purchase?

Thanks an accomplishment I hope I never accomplish ;).

How the hell did you do it? Must of been nice to put some use on those three fine knives. By the way, how do you like you're burger?

There really wasn't anything in my price range that I cared for. Between hard times and complacency with what I had, I really just stopped looking. I didn't frequent the forums, and I just carried what I had. Worked nicely!

The burger is wonderful. Its so buttery smooth, and it just feels like quality through and through. Be certain you realize however, that it is NOT a hard use knife. I have the LEXK, and while a largish knife, it feels delicate. While I'm sure it isn't, it feels like it. And I'm okay with that, Its a joy to use. Like holding a lady as opposed to the brute of a knife in my back pocket, the tsek.

one, it gives me an excuse to carry two knives, and two... i just like to carry knives :D

I did however break the pocket clip off on the burger a month or two ago, and it has been sorely missed from my pocket. I've been trying to get a new one from burger, but idk if it just takes a month to ship from south africa or what

Yes this is the wrong place to hang out.

I can't remember ever going more than six months without buying some kind of knife ( since the 1970's) , but the pace really picked up after joining BF.
But I know what you mean about finances, I had to slow down a few years ago when I took a pay cut.

Welcome back to the fun side, for me it was near 12 years with out purchasing an EDC knife... Then one broke, and the other just didn't feel right anymore... then I found this place and within a week have ordered 2 customs and a becker, and am making plans to start making knives as a hobby lol...

Thats an accomplishment! You do realize that you now have to make up for the lost time of not buying any right?

Yeah, I seem to have been bitten by the custom fixed blade bug more so than the folder bug this time around...

I'm yearning after a handmade kitchen knife too! I can't swing a full set by any means, but I have a Chicago Cutlery that I wouldn't mind having someone model a quality hand made piece of art after... It seems to be just the right size. Its roughly the shape of a standard butcher knife, but at I think 4" its small enough to pare, yet tall enough to chop. Carving can be tricky... but if I can only have one..........

I'm envisioning it in black palm with matching solo block, made out of thinner stock m390 ffg treated to 62....

And I'm hunting for toxic green ray skin for that neck knife I mentioned earlier. He has a design I love; I'm thinking carbidized titanium with the toxic green ray skin under a black wrap. If anyone knows where to find some I'd be grateful!
