I think i found myself a new "branch" of knife addiction.
I believe pocket-clip equipped folders are a gateway drug!

As i progress thru stages of use, abuse, and addiction, i've now found myself oogling the HI Khukuris and feeling strong desires to fondle such large, heavy, handcrafted, edged pieces!

ooooh, rehab will hafta wait for another day!

Hey Pendentive,
I'll be needing one of your CDs too! Soon as i get out of a most horrible "MicroTech automatic Thru-the-nose Payment Plan" with another forum buddy... I'm all over this stuff! :D

These prices are definitely comfortable for me!

So can you make do with a 3/8th inch thick spine or do you need the heavy duty 1/2 inchers? The AK Bowie ( also known as the HI Bird and Trout ) is a good compromize at 7/16ths. The 3/4" spined Salyans have, alas been discontinued, sad to say. At leastI got mine in time!

Couldn't resist: it was all those ads talking big bowies with "a full .200 or .250 thick blade". ( Watch the newbie read of 3/8ths, 7/16ths, 1/2 and 3/4 thick spines in disbelief! )

Welcome to the Cantina Gonzo! Um, do you have a pair of steel toed bootsto wear in case a khuk lands on your toes?   :D :D :D

One of the things I love most about HI Khuks is the CLACKING sound they make when you bang two of 'em together. Not a "clank", not a ringing sound...it's like two big, smooth river rocks colliding in a fast-moving mountain stream. Strong, sturdy, indestructible!

IIRC, ask Yvsa about a close encounter with toes!

Well, Gonzo, welcome. You will find this fun and rewarding. The blades are pretty wild the first time you see and feel them; definately handcrafted. But it's like eating M&M's...try eating just one.

Thanks guys...
I've got a bit of reading to do yet, before i determine a style to go with, but i'm sure i won't stop at just one :)

As with any knife... who stops at just one? :D

That's what I keep trying to tell them.;)

Gonzo, may I sugest you check out the BAS and 15" Ang Khola.:) Also, if you can, get one on sale. Uncle is posting sales just about everyday. But be warned. They go FAST!

Uncle Bill, Thank you for the welcome.
I read the FAQ today and found it quite interesting and informative. The more i read, the more i like. I think it's awesome that you put so much info on your site about these great knives. It's a great change of pace from the usual Tactical Urban Commando Anti-Terror knives, or the Armor/Engine piercing makeshift-entry-step tools i'm used to seeing "advertised" :D BTW, Khukuri's are in use by the CIA and mall ninjas worldwide, correct? :D

Back to reality...

The deals i have seen in the past two days on seconds, have been incredible! That's something you normally don't see anywhere, aside from Cold Steel (not priced incredible tho). It definitely helps make collecting easier, and i appreciate that! Still can't believe they make em out of car springs!

Looking forward to my first :D

Email me your address. Worry about payment later.
