uhhh i need your help...with my recon 1

I have the 2010 Tri-Ad model and have never heard any noise when shaking it. Do you have new or older model?

I have the older model and it does make a rattling noise when the bar of the lock is a little loose. As for the tri-ad models, I have heard that the stop pin sometimes makes noise when it's not seated correctly.

Yeah, is it "small" or "big" sounding? If it's small it's the stop pin. Some loctite shut mine up.

i have the triad lock version and its up towards the pivot point...so it may be the stop pin...and what do i loctite?

Not sure what to tell you. I got the Tri-Ad version of it about a year ago and I've been beating the hell out of it. No noise so far....

There are a ton of threads on how to and what to use for stripping blade coatings. I used sand paper to remove the black coating on my American lawman. I used 2000 grit, and it took forever, but I think 400 or even 120 would work fine. If you want a better finish on the blade you'll have to sand at a high grit after the teflon is removed. Also, when sanding make sure not to remove too much steel from the pivot area, you'll end up with blade lateral blade play.

Go to Harbor Freight & get 2 micro-screwdriver kits, that have the small torx & hex heads. Mine was REAL loose after batoning with it, tightened everything up & it is like new again. No more rattle.
