hi all I've become a regular in bushcraft now and a bad recommendation of the gerber hatchet its just too soft its ridiculous how fast its damaged. I like traditional style but I want to be able to beat the crap out of it for example hard wood and it retain the edge (within reason)
Budget isn't an issue I just don't know where or who to go to with being so new into it.
So wandered if anyone knows any make or people to try for a really good small hatchet.

Thanks all stay safe

Weird in the non-fishy way, I'd agree. Josh has done custom work for me in the past. He has the feel for what makes a good tool.

:)

These guys are friends and associates, though each works in their own way.I'm not surprised Ernest recommends Josh!:)

Craig,no offence-just being straight up here-Ernest is a serious woodworker, and Josh takes his axes and their use very seriously.

With your stated requirements i suggested James, who's younger and more flexible, and will be willing to bend the more traditional shapes/alloys and so on,to experiment to suit your wants.

They're both really good guys excellent craftsmen, and are very well known,i'm pretty sure both have Instagram accounts where there shouldn't be shortage of reviews by customers and all that.
